Happiness is… Being thankful (but not just to be nice)

The fact is Thanksgiving isn’t just important in November, but throughout the year. You can live with gratitude and be thankful because “it does the spirit good”, or you can dismiss that concept and selfishly be thankful only for your own benefit. Either way, the world will be a little nicer place to live in, and you will be the happier for it.

The power of perception cannot be overstated. Seeing the world through a lens of gratitude is a very powerful skill that can help us re-frame even the most challenging of situations. In spite of anything you may face today, even now as you read this, you are breathing, you are sheltered, have electricity and access to the internet. THAT IS AMAZING!

So, take a moment to celebrate today, not just the obvious blessings, but all the daily things we take for granted. Even if the spirit of the idea doesn’t move you, the science is compelling enough — practicing gratitude will improve your life.

Simply put, the way were perceive our situation impacts the way we feel, the way we feel impacts our expectations and our expectations influence the outcomes.
